Partnerships
Throughout 2025, we partnered with schools, kindergartens, libraries, and community organisations to support initiatives that strengthen connection, inclusion, and learning for families in the Berri region. Each of these collaborations was built through conversations, co-design, and a shared understanding of what matters most to local families.
Berri Primary School – Speech Pathology Morning Tea
In collaboration with Berri Primary School, we hosted a relaxed and informative morning tea that was open to all local families, not just those enrolled at the school. Shaped through co-design with staff, the session featured a speech pathologist who spoke about supporting children’s communication and understanding neurodiversity in everyday life. With 18 attendees, the event offered both structured information and informal Q&A time, as well as a valuable space for parents to connect and share experiences.
Berri Primary School – Cultural Garden
The school also began creating a Cultural Garden designed to foster belonging, inclusion, and connection to culture. We were proud to support their vision by funding supplies for garden beds and a fire pit. The space will include a bush garden, a yarning circle, and a communal fire pit. Families will be invited to leave their mark by creating artwork to decorate the garden beds, weaving their stories into the landscape. The school plans to incorporate the space into learning experiences and strengthen cultural connection for students and their families.
Berri Kindergarten – Family Night
To support Berri Kindergarten’s goal of increasing parent engagement, we provided catering for their family evening. This idea came directly from conversations with staff, where offering food was identified as a simple yet powerful way to bring families together. Feedback confirmed that the catering helped boost attendance and created a more relaxed, social atmosphere where parents could connect with each other and with staff.
Riverland Aboriginal Sobriety Group / Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Council – Mothers Group
We partnered with the existing mothers group facilitated by RASG and ADAC to support a session on the impacts of secondhand smoke and vaping on children. The content was tailored in collaboration with the group to reflect the needs and interests of the mothers attending. Funding a knowledgeable guest speaker ensured the information was practical, respectful, and well received.
Berri Library – LEGO Table
As the Berri Library moved into a smaller space, we spoke with staff about how to continue offering hands-on, engaging activities for families. In response, we funded a sturdy LEGO table that now provides a creative, interactive space for children. As one of the few free, indoor public venues for families in Berri, the library plays a vital role in the community, and this addition helps make it even more welcoming and family-friendly year-round.
Girl Guides – Community Family Night
We were pleased to support the Girl Guides’ open community event by providing catering. The goal was to encourage more families to explore local youth programs in a relaxed, friendly setting. Providing food helped boost attendance and created a social environment where families could learn more about the Girl Guides while enjoying a night out together.
