Sensory and Play Resources
We have created a collection of sensory and play resources designed to make community events more inclusive, comfortable, and enjoyable for all families. This project came to life after hearing from parents who shared that large events can sometimes feel overwhelming for children, especially those with sensory sensitivities or disabilities.
To make sure our collection truly met local needs, we asked our community what would help most through a Facebook poll and ongoing conversations with families. The feedback was invaluable and shaped the items we chose to include.
Our sensory and play collection features a range of resources, including fidget toys, noise-cancelling headphones, foam mats, soft cushions, a spin chair, foam blocks, rocking chairs, magnetic tiles, and lawn games. Each item helps create calmer, more engaging spaces where children can play, regulate, and connect in ways that suit them best.
This initiative is all about inclusion, belonging, and celebration, ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate and enjoy community events at their own pace. We’re proud to see these resources already making a difference, and we’re grateful to everyone who shared their ideas to help make it happen.
